Surprise!

That's what happened after I boarded our flight to Chicago, with two little guys in tow. I opened a letter from my husband (which i thought was an apology from our knockdowndragout disagreement that morning. Not even close. It was a letter telling me that my best friend, Jill, would be waiting for me in Chicago and we would have 30 hours of kid-free time together. Still uncertain about how this would actually work, my husband went on to explain the details. After arriving in ORD, we met up with Granna and Grandad (and mom was quickly forgotten) and Jill and I took off to downtown Chicago.  It was a much needed, very special 30 hours together.  We covered most of the important topics and solved most of our (i.e., my) problems.  Thank you Pete for arranging this time. Thank you Jill for making it happen too!  I love you both.  A few highlights...

We experienced some great Kari Jobe music, beautiful cats, delightful dining, some shopping, some sleeping in a sheek Chicago estate, and some good quality time for counsel and encouragement!  It ranks near the top of the best 30 hours of 2012 thus far.
