Fireworks and Friends

I have always loved 4th of July. It brings back childhood memories of swimming in the hot sun at my Aunt Sandy’s pool, eating watermelon until I was ill, gorging on slightly runny homemade ice cream, and then piling in the car to see the infamous River Parks fireworks display in Tulsa.  I’m a little patriotic at heart and it does my soul good to hear a few tunes having to do with our nation’s freedom (Brothers, I think of our many fourth of July extravaganza performances—the Franke kids put on quite a show every 4th!)

Although the Park City 4th of July parade shows too much skin can be a little too free, we have continued on our tradition of getting up way too early to save a place watching it with friends.  This year I was a bit jet-lagged, but the fresh mountain air, sunshine, cute kids and good friends made it well worth the trip into town.
