For any of you that read my blog, I posted about Friendship 101 and my commitment to start initiating more in my friendships. I was skimming thru a Mom's magazine that I get and found some more great tips for "Mom Friendships." I thought I'd share them and maybe that will help me remember what I read too!
"Once I was blessed with an abundance of girlfriends. That was my life before children."
Any of you moms ever felt like this? I know it resonated with me. It seemed so easy in college and single days to make and stay connected with friends. The article goes on to give a few tips in making/keeping mom-friends:
- Be Persistent in seeking friendships-it may not happen overnight!
- Use technology to stay connected-email/text is a great way to connect with other moms.
- Get Real! This is refreshing in ANY friendship. Be real and be able to admit you DON"T have it all together!
- Be full of GRACE. Duh? I often struggle with holding grudges over stupid things instead of extending grace to my fellow moms (knowing I need a lot of it myself).
I must say that I have had a much happier season of friendships since I blogged in January. Its not that any of my friendships have really changed but I think I have, for the better.
Just a few of my special Park City girlfriends that met in the park for lunch today. I feel blessed to hang out with such wonderful women.
