Please tell me that I am not alone in my craziness as a mom! I will make some true confessions...and maybe others will confess show some empathy?
Confession #1: Below are pictures of my house, it never used to be this messy pre-baby, and I would have told you (before Parker) that it never would look like this!
Confession #2: Below is a picture of my child after dumping applesauce everywhere, I promise I only left him for a few seconds. Please tell me that some of you temporarily "forget" that you have a child? At least he was strapped into his high chair (i think!).
Confession #3: I locked my keys in my car for the third time yesterday. Yes, I spent 2 1/2 hours on the Park City Transit System because I was too embarrassed to call a friend for help!
Gotta love those high-tech cars with keyless entry...dummy me, I keep locking the $#@*? keys in the car!
Confessions #4: When was the last time you...
- cleaned your refrigerator shelves
- cleaned your microwave
- got a new toothbrush
- changed your sheets (and your children's sheets)
- actually laundered your
daytime clothespajamas - wore lingerie?
Please be honest tell me that I am not the only one that can make these confessions...its been a wonderful, yet exhausting, 2007 and I am determined to do a few of these things more often in 2008!

Oh, Jenny. I. Love. You. And I laughed out loud when I saw the second photo -- of your lovely office! Sooooo funny. I just want to say "This too shall pass." I hope you can enjoy the mess for the time being. Love,
Mama Doug
Jenny! You are now Normal. Welcome.
You are so not alone!! It is nice when they can start cleaning up after themselves, but that is a while yet. I confess to all of the above!
Yep, you're totally normal. It will get easier as he gets older! (At least there are days I *think* it is easier--I may just be in denial!)
The mess: you're remembering what's important.
The applesauce: you're taking a moment for yourself.
The keys: you should have called me right away.
The confessions: I do one shelf at a time every once in a while... it's about time to clean the microwave... hubby and I just talked about getting new toothbrurshes today... sheets were changed last weekend... pajamas had a little B/O a couple nights ago, reminding me to wash them... why wear it when it's quicker to get naked???
There, you asked!!! P.S. I LOVE that you showed a picture of your messy house!
I love the pictures and the confessions...they give us (married couples who are planning to have kids in the future) a glimpse into what it's like to have a baby and in some instance convince us to wait just a little bit longer before starting a family ;)
By the way, I really do hope you meant 2009 not 2008...
ok, as the others who commented before me - i agree... it is normal. if your life wasn't like this, something would be wrong! :) hey, i love the breakfast pie tradition. and i wanted to know what song that is playing during the slideshow of those pics?
I think number 4 was my favorite confession! I have vacuumed our house twice since Jack was born, and he is 3 1/2 months old now. Thanks for your honesty, Love it!
I am so glad to know that everyone is not as perfect as my sister, Laurie Kate!!! My fridge shelves are filthy, I have to admit I did recently clean my micro because I can see it's filth so easily daily, I did just replace my toothbrush because I bought the mega pack at Costco, my sheets haven't been changed in so long I can't remember it, my daytime clothes are my pj's too and I admit its usually a while before I am out of them long enough to actually wash them and lingerie, whats that????? P.S. Parker is so big and cute!!!
jenny...this made me laugh! i cannot believe your house is such a mess!!!! you should see mine!!! i love it when shane gets on a mission and starts cleaning (which happened this weekend). the clutter finally gets to him too!! wait til you have baby #2...it just keeps getting more interesting! miss you, brooke
p.s. i swore i would never live in a mess either...sometimes i just don't know what i am talking about!
Jenny, At least you have a reason for those things being like they are. What does it say about me that I'm single and still my house looks like that?
Jenny,
You are absolutely hysterical! So enjoy your blog!
